Before reading a few of the reviews I assumed the situation I encountered was an isolated incident. After reading a few of the reviews there seems to BE SERIOUS PROBLEMS with the Purolator Anjou location. I ordered a new cellphone online to be delivered to my home. I was unaware that a signature was required or that a person had to be there to receive the package. The driver attempted to deliver the package and I no one was home so the driver returned the package to the location in Anjou so that I may pick the package. I contacted my service provider to have the package redirected to my office. After the request for redirection I was chatting with specialists online to ensure when and if the package would be redirected. I kept receiving conflicting information. The package was returned to Anjou on Friday. On Monday I received a notification that my package was delivered/picked up at 3:15 p.m. at the Anjou location. I immediately contacted an agent to ask them why the package is marked as picked up at the Anjou location when I never picked up the package or sent someone to pick up the package. One of the agents I spoke to told me that the description was an error and that the package was delivered to the sorting center to be picked up by a delivery driver for delivery to the redirected address. I waited a few days and never received an update as to estimated day as to when the package would be en route. In the meantime, I was contacting agents asking the same question over and over. I waited until Thursday and they still could not provide me a day when the package would be en route. I asked If I could pick up the package the package at the Anjou location and was told the package was available for pick up. Friday morning I drove to the Anjou location to pickup my package. I provided my drivers license and a copy of my tracking number. I was told by the person behind the desk that my package was in fact picked up by someone and that I should be contact the authorities. I called my cellphone service provider who opened a fraud file who in turn contacted Purolator to open a fraud file. I received a e-mail from a Purolator Tracing Specialist from the Purolator Eastern Tracing Department on August 2nd informing me that they have received my case file, that they would be reaching out to their operations team to assist with the search and will update me as soon as they have an update. Today, August 4th, I received an update from the same Training Specialist informing me they have completed their investigation. and that the person who picked up the package provided proper identification. They suggested that I communicate with the police if I believe there might be identity theft involved. Once the police have been contacted, the police would be communicating with them and they will provide all that they have. I have never experienced such an issue with any other courrier company. To read that many other customers have encountered the same experience as me is quite worrisome. There seems to be a breakdown in their security which needs to be seriously addressed. Knowing that my service provider employs Purolator to deliver their devices I will ensure to pick up the device at an outlet next time. I suggest to all shipper and receivers to steer clear of Purolator. If I could give 0 stars I would.
